Ethiopia Longberry Harrar
Vienna (medium dark) Roast Cup – hint of blueberry, a sweet apple aftertaste Fragrance – floral aromas with sweet berry bursts.
The Longberry coffee is coined so due to the long, slender beans shape and the longer length of its cherry. Some would say it is also a bit of foreshadowing to the berry flavors present in the final cup. These coffees come from a region of Ethiopia with few viable water sources, so they are dry processed. Allowed to dry in the sun, the bean takes on the fruity flavors of the drying outside cherry. Although wet processing could be achieved in the area, the unwashed coffee already fetches some of the highest prices for unwashed coffee in the world market. Attempting to aquire these sources and wet processing the beans isn’t necessary. Harrar coffees also hold a high level of consistent excellence with the dry process.
