Sumatran coffees capture the earthy jungle feel of its native country. The unroasted beans have a hint of blue color in with the green. Sometimes they are even coined as “jade” coffees because of this color characteristic. Each batch is hand sorted and often the beans look irregular rather than uniform. This quality gives the final cup lots of character and variety.
Mandheling is not a region of Sumatra but rather it refers to the coffee’s selective Arabica variety. If you savor a creamy body, mild earthiness, low acidity, and hints of butterscotch as this coffee lingers then you picked the right coffee. This makes an awesome iced coffee as well!
